The
fluid style and raw talent of a serious man brings Joe
Sierro to mind.
Control, speed, slayer along with his mellow calm expression
make Joe shine above the rest. His time has come.(again)

Background:
Skating for 8 years. Started in the Bay Area where I used
to live. San Mateo. Born in San Francisco. Moved up here to
Sacramento about 6 years ago.
Early
influences: Mark Gonzales, Natas, Guererro, Tony Hawk, Hosoi.
Likes
to skate because: I like certain rushes it gives me. It's
a cool thing.
Future
of skating: Things getting burlier and bigger.
Skate
spots: Downtown Sacramento, The Grind, Santa Rosa's cool,
Phelp's vert ramp, spots in the City; blocks, bumps, hills.
Hills are bad. Ninth Street run is fun.
Skates
with: My usual skate friends are Chad Lunsford, Masher, Acid
Boy, The Doughmaster. Cardiel's fun to skate with; that guy
amps me up. You (Mako Urabe), my friend Jason Bean, Raeben,
Hondell, Rafter, the whole downtown crew.
Besides skating: Play guitar, listen to music, drive my car,
hang out with my girlfriend and burn the greens.
Mako:
Hey dude can I ask some questions I want??
Matt:
Yeah dude, go crazy.
Who do
you ride for: Think and Indy. Props to Greg Carrol. Everything's
pretty cool right now. They treat me good.
Who do
you like to watch skate: Cardiel, Carrol, Sanchez, Gurerro,
Stranger, Joey Tershay, Nick, Frazier, Carl Shipman, Matt
Rodriquez. Anyone who's got a good clean style.
Road
Trips: Went to Burnside with Wade Speyer, Joel Price and most
of the Think crew. Peter Bici from New York. Went up there
during the Halloween weekend. That was rad. Everybody was
rippin'.
TV: The
news, Star Trek, Married with Children, The Oddity. The Head.
that's bad
Music:
Lots of good hip-hop, The Roots, EPMD, Keith Murray, Tribe,
Peterock, Extra Prolific, Lot of Sabbath. Speed metal like
Slayer. I just went to their concert with the Masher, it was
fresh. It was cool, I got an album cover signed by the guitarist,
Kerry King. Classical, Jazz.
Books:
Car magazines and skate magazines and that's about it.
In closing:
I'd like to thank my sponsors, Greg at Think, Joey at Indy,
Mike at X-21's been hella' cool. Props to my friends, they
keep amping me up and pushing me forward. My girlfriend Kristen,
I love you. My parents and anyone who's helped me out along
the way.
