What
word comes to mind when I think of Josh Vert? Average,
I guess.
It's
not that the guy doesn't have much style, it's just that he
looks and acts low-key. I don't think he makes any waves when
he jumps in the pool. Most of his skills are found on the hill,
and it's not the waves but the sloughs that he causes. Look
for Josh is some of the new Vid's out. He's got parts in VERTIGO,
and BIG JEAN FANTASY.

I first
met Josh this past summer when we were both working for the
same courier company. I quickly found out that Josh is way
modest, and lets his skating and snowboarding talk for him.
It speaks volumes that after only three years snowboarding,
he's sponsored by Burton. I got to know Josh a little
better because we would skate my ramp after work. I found
out that he was skating here at the FLFRiders on
the Storm premier party. I mentioned that there was some
skating going on and that there was this one guy that was
doing fakie-ollie-airs, hitting the ceiling and landing in
a disaster to fakie. "Oh yeah," Josh replied, "That was me.
I broke my ankle at that party."
"Thanks
for not swing me," I replied.
"No problem,"
he said.
I'm not
surprised at the brevity and humor in Josh's replies in Matt's
questionnaire, it's typical Josh. I remember that he once
told me not to tell anyone that he was sponsored by Burton.
"Why
not?"
"I, don't
know, it's kinda gay."
