Spot
Check Diablo Valley The Valley is too boring you say? Well its only 35
minutes from San Francisco so you can get your ecstasy-induced
groove on all night long, hop on the Bay Bridge and be home
within minutes for a good nights sleep. Instead of waking
up to the smell of homeless urine and rape, you will hear the
sounds of birds chirping and children playing. Yeah, life in
the Valley is pretty great, but youre probably asking
yourself, What does any of this have to do with skating?
Well, a bunch of parks were just built, making the Valley an
even better place to live, and as with any area as populated
as the Diablo Valley, there are a bunch of street spots for
your enjoyment.>>Read

The
Iron Monkey The Donkey, Clarke, Steve and I had a moment of tension,
but then Steve took one ski and I took the other, and we pulled
the damn thing uphill while Clarke gave it gas. Pulling a sled
up 500 feet of hillside sucks, but with a lot of help from his
friends, Clarke and The Iron Donkey made it out, and we reached
the Ryder well after dark. >>Read

Appleyard At the tender age of 17, hes on the cusp of becoming
one of skateboardings champions. Hes motivated enough
to do anything on a skateboard that he wants. And representative
of skateboardings next generation, skating switch stance
is second nature. This boys got a good head sticking out
of his shoulders and his sense of consciousness will guide him
through the sometimes ugly industry of professionalism. >>Read

A
Provocative Look into the Multifaceted World of Skateboarding The fact that skateboarding means different things to different
people doesnt mean that other facets of skateboarding
do not exist. It simply means that a certain individuals
concept of skateboarding is different than that of another individual.
The beautiful thing about skateboarding is that it allows different
people to accomplish different things. It allows kids to be
creative in coming up with new tricks, while at the same time
they can have fun and hang out with their friends. >>Read

Your Own Spot So I guess you could say that some folks are bitten by the
bug, and they get a feverish urge to build their own spots.
They may become obsessed or enraptured, but also inevitably
enraged because as their vision begins to grow, so does the
rumor that they are simply deluded kooks that will never actually
get it off the ground. (Really, though, this thinking serves
as a convenient excuse to avoid hard labor, hammer-hits to the
fingers, etc.) >>Read

The
Sound and the Fury The Northwest skateboard community turned out in force,
as well as visitors from the west and east coasts, and even
Alaska. Everyone from nine-year-old groms to big name ams and
pros battled it out in heated practice sessions, all trying
to get some lines down for their run on the well-designed course.
It was great to see everyone come out and have a good time.

Truckee Just bring your chains, your money and your battery powered
electric sleeping bag. Watch your beautiful car turn to rust
and slowly rot. The locals by trial and error have this life
all figured out. After their years of withstanding winters,
working all summer to buy resort passes and hiking for countless
powder (and even cement) turns; they are the talented individuals
who give Truckee, Calif. a unique flavor that separates it from
the rest of the modern world. >>Read

182 vs. All The best comment that we get, and we get it a lot, is that
people e-mail us or write us and say I never listened
to punk rock music before and then I heard your band and I heard
you talk about the Descendents. Or I heard you talk about Pennywise,
or NOFX, or Bad Religion or Face to Face or any of these bands.
And I totally started getting into a different style of music.
And its great! Thats the biggest compliment, to
open somebodys eyes to a whole different style of music.

Earth
Crisis Toad and I had a great time hanging out with Earth Crisis
for the afternoon. We went to their show later that night and
I have to say that it was one of the best metal shows I have
ever been to. Earth Crisis puts on a very high energy rock show
that seriously kicks ass! People were moshing, crowd surfing,
and having a great time as the onslaught of metal militia music
was making my chest cave in. >>Read

Incubus No 1,000 dollars a day coke habits, no drunk drivin
homicidal Porsche escapades, no Milli Vanilli inspired lip synching,
and yet they had already made it to the pinnacle of rock n
roll; therapy. In the long list of dysfunctional and fucked
up bands, Incubus is near the bottom, far from soon being the
billionth band to breakdown in a stream of tears on VH1s
Behind The Music. >>Read

Savy Fav The sounds of Les Savy Fav overcome all self-consciousness,
with Tim singing and shouting bare-chested, hanging from the
rafters, while dancing and stamping around on stage. The drums
will literally be on fire, as Tim shoves the mic into the face
of a screaming drunk, and moves his mouth as if hes the
one screaming. >>Read

Roach We recorded our first demo in 94 and our second in
95, we recorded a whole album Old Friends from Young Years
which was put out a year later in 97 because we had no
money to release it and put out two EPs in 99. We
sold albums from the trunks of our cars outside shows; Infest
would have come out anyway if we didnt sign to a major
label. Weve been around for seven years. >>Read
