Chris Andrew's dog barks so much over the phone that it's
hard to hear what the hell Chris is saying.
I'm interviewing him for Heckler and he doesn't have too much
to say. In fact he is about the complete opposite of Rosco:
A quiet human who works at Boreal, usually rides [quite well]
at Squaw and lives with some dude named Dave White.Oh yeah,
he also lives with Colin Fisher and Jon North [star of Core
Snow Mag.]
He grew up riding in `lingo central' Grass Valley with Chris
Roach and Tucker, but talks perfect phonetics. He therefore
admires the talent of the "older school" riders like Roach
and Tucker, "All the guys from the Western Front video," but
cites Uriah Birch and Chris Haggin as some up and coming talent
to keep an eye on.
Andrews has lived in Truckee for three years and ridden around
Tahoe for six Seasons. His first time boarding was "A rainy
day at Boreal. I came up with Chris [Roach]. But I definitely
like riding when the snow is best.... definitely Powder."
Wave Rave, Morrow and Boards-n-Motion support his equipment
cravings. His sponsorship was mostly through friends and word
of mouth.
"Jim Rippey referred me to Morrow when they were looking for
a Tahoe rider."
Music: "I like rap. And I'm kinda getting exposed to NoFx
and Offspring from my roomates."
Lastly, Chris cites Whistler as his best travel destination,
wears Arnets and says, "Tell people not to mess with my dog
Rosco!"
