New Found
Glory has definitely come a long way since their early days
of playing small shows to a hand full of kids in their home
state of Florida. They are still the same kids though having
just as much fun as ever. Only one small thing has changed
since then; that being everybody and their mother listens
to them now. You know a band is doing well if you are walking
around Target looking for the dental floss when you look up
to see the video for Hit or Miss. Regardless of
how popular NFG becomes you will never hear any of them talk
about how its not enough. They are too busy talking
about how unbelievable it is that they have gotten as far
as they have.
Have
you guys made it?
Ian: Weve made it a lot farther then I thought we were
going to go. In the beginning we never thought that we were
going to play out side of Florida.
Steve: Weve done everything we have ever wanted to do,
just having a CD out.
Chad: Everything now is just icing on the cake.
Whats
up with Hit or Miss on the new album, was that
you guys or the label?
Chad: It was both. We felt that when we recorded Hit
or Miss on Nothing Gold Can Stay it didnt
really do justice to the song. Plus the crowds would always
go crazy for that song, so we wanted to get that song out
to more people.
What Type of feedback have you gotten from putting Hit
or Miss on the new album?
Chad: Its been good and bad, kids always like the original.
Steve:
I think a lot of our new fans dont even know that its
on our other CD. Which is cool cause thats the
song that everyone likes from the last CD and a lot more kids
are hearing the new CD so a lot more people are going to hear
the song.
Whats
the weirdest thing a fan has ever done to you guys?
Cyrus: In April we were playing a show in New Jersey. This
girl who had just gotten off work at Dominos Pizza wanted
to meet us so she had her friend drive her to the show as
if she was delivering a pizza. She got back stage and was
like I dont have a pizza, I just want you to sign
the pizza box. That was pretty crazy.
Whats
up with the recent surge of tattoos on everybody?
Ian: More then anything it was the fact that we didnt
have to worry about working real jobs.\
Funniest
tattoo you have ever seen.
Ian: This guy Steve Looker from Gainesville has chicken Mc
nuggets tattooed on his arms (Laughing)
Jordan: There is this kid from Arizona that has his arm sleeved
and its a chicken with boxing gloves ripping apart the
Colonel Sanders from KFC, and there is blood everywhere.
Whats
your comments on Buddyhead.com?
Ian: FUCK BUDDYHEAD.COM!!! Travis Keller, the kid who runs
Buddyhead took our promo pictures when we put out our record.
He was our friend we used to hang out with him. Then one day
he thought it would be cool to start a web site and start
to talk shit, but whatever, those guys are just douche bags
and they just do it for attention.
Chad: Its like this, if they want to just talk shit
and stuff, thats fine. We dont care, they can
say whatever they want about us, we dont give a shit.
When they put personal phone numbers and information on there
thats when it starts to get fucked up, I know a lot
of people that want to beat the shit out of those guys
Steve: If I ever see anyone from Buddyhead I am going to kick
their ass I will fight them, I dont care.
Ian: I dont really care what they say at all, Im
just looking for an excuse to get into a fight.(Laughs)
How
long until Brittany is doing softcore porn?
Ian: After the next album comes out, she will most definitely
do something. The first thing shell do will probably
just be topless, then after that shell go all the way.
Everyones jerkin off to her anyway she might as well
be naked.(Laughs)
Whats
the weirdest thing you have ever been interviewed for?
Ian: The weirdest thing we ever did an interview for was probably
Cosmo-girl
Cyrus: Ian just showed up in Twist magazine, thats like
a fuckin Teeny-bop magazine. Hes next to pictures of
Eve, Pink, and Sisqo and shit its funny.
