The progression of snowboarding seems endless as of yet and to prove that even further what better than to have a first-ever event that showcases talent in ways not been seen in a contest format yet. From the recent X Games back to back 12's in the pipe with a perfect 100 to Triple corking flawlessly onto the podium what could come next? The much anticipated two year in the making Red Bull Supernatural went down this last saturday with a BANG! This time Travis Rice upped everyone yet again and this one definitely gets marked down as the most progressive Big Mountain Freestyle event yet to date. Travis and Red Bull set out to make history with this event and did they ever. The venue was specifically chosen to be at beautiful Nelson, British Columbia’s Baldface Lodge by Mr. Rice himself and the line up was stacked about as heavily as a sumo wrestlers G-string after a chinese buffet eating contest. A good majority of the best raw talent that our industry has to offer came out to hang and compete for the for 35K on an epic run with endless creative options to get down and dirty on. In the end Travis took home the pony with GiGi and Nicolas not far behind with John Jackson winning best trick for his el-doublay cork back ten off the showcase booter.
